When you arrive in Cusco, prepare to walk for several days through forests, discovering sites of ancient times with fortifications and Inca cities, and all while enjoying majestic views until reaching the impressive Salkantay mountain. In addition, you will discover the ancient capital of the Incas and the impressive historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
The trail sojourns through incredible landscapes where lowland jungle gives way to highland alpine settings and glaciated mountains, the most impressive of which is Nevada Salkantay. National Geographic Adventure Magazine rated the Salkantay trek as one for the 25 Best Treks in the World. Situated 60km North-west of Cusco city, Salkantay which stands at 6,271m, is the 12th highest mountain in Peru and the 38th highest in the Andes.

- Soraypampa: This camp site is a starting point of the trek to the snowy mountains: Humantay o Salkantay.
- Salkantay: The second-highest mountain in Cusco at 6,271 meters above sea level remains as challenging to tame and beautiful to behold today as in Inca times.
- Lucmabamba: High altitude coffee plantation area in Santa Teresa renowned for producing one of the best organic coffees in the world.
- Llactapata: Enjoy the first distant views of Machu Picchu from the Inca era from this warehouse remains.
- Machu Picchu: The lost city of the Incas is hidden on top of an Andean peak, offering views not only of the mountains, but also of the Inca past.

Day 6: | Machu Pichu- Cusco: Bus ride to Ollantaytambo & Train to Machu Pichu. Back to Cusco |
Day 7: | Cusco - Explore the city or take an optional tour of Sacred Valley |
Day 8: | Departure. Transfer to the airport for onward flight. |
